Anyone put any thought into getting the JDM intercooler spray switch? It's a toggle rather than a 2-second burst. I thought that would be pretty neat to have for the computer. It would definitely look stealth.

They sell it for $20 + shipping. Much cheaper than the heater switches.
I found a thread on NASIOC that said that the heater switches are a Nissan part, borrowed from the 95-99 Maxima.

I thought about using the I/C switch too, but then I'd have to cut new wires to go the extra length from where they are at. Plus, I have other plans for that I/C switch.
Same here, I have plans for the IC switch. Boost pressure switch and a short timer should do it, I think..
I just got my Rikaline 6010 GPS reciever today, and it works great. Install was a breeze. I'm just using it with MS Streets and Trips for right now until I figure out exactly which program I want to use with it.
I just have it sitting on top of the center console box until I find a place I want to put it at. It's working good so far, but I'm thinking of putting it on the back window as soon as I get a USB extension cord.
i fed the cable up through a notch i made in the back side of the dashtop pod and have it as far forward as possible on the dash. It's working out for me there.

I know that another one of the WRX's here on the board has his mounted inside the dashtop pod and is getting good results. Do you have room behind the HU in there?
Hey WRX owners! I am looking at putting a Mac mini in my WRX and the info I've seen posted by you guys have been very helpful. I would prefer to have the Mac mini mounted in the bottom DIN slot and the display kind of on an arm that swings up or down. But... I'm still thinking about it. Glad to see other WRX owners ripping their cars apart and posting pictures! :)
i am planning to do the same set up for my car, im wondering where did you get the housing for the radio and how do you have a radio and a computer at the same time.

Well, I wanted to put the LCD screen where the stock radio was. But by taking out the stock radio, I would need to find a way to power the speakers. I thought about using an amplifier (and have the audio out of the computer plug into the amplifier). My other option was installing another headunit in the car. I've seen alot of people in the past install radios where the clock is.
I decided against the amplifer b/c it was more work than I wanted to do, and I don't have any plans to upgrade the sound system. Also, by going with the headunit option, I can still have a working sound system independent of the computer. If my computer is out of service for any reason, I can still listen to music. I could listen to the radio w/o having to buy an USB FM receiver, and I can control the volume by using the controls on the headunit.
So I bought a headunit from an Ebay store for about $150. If you go this route, make sure you get one with an Auxilary Input so you can plug an audio cable between your computer and headunit.
I bought the housing for the radio here, http://www.subaruwrxparts.com/04wrx-interior.html. It's basically the housing and mount from the Subaru Factory gauge kit. It just so happens it's the same size as a radio. It was a tight sqeeze to get the radio to fit in the mount, but it does fit without too much trouble.

I just have the long, slim control board just hanging in the back, held on to everything with a zip-tie.
I don't have the greatest soldering skills out there, so I was a bit afraid to take off the little board that the power plug goes into and move it. The plug protrudes too much to the side of the chassis to fit, so what I did was cut a hole in the side of the chassis so the plug could fit.

But since the plug is sticking out a bit from the chassis, the left stereo bracket doesn't fit anymore. Not that big of a problem. I just have the left bracket attached to the car, with the whole assembly resting against it. The right bracket is attached to the chassis and to the car, so it's pretty secure. The LCD doesn't move any when I push the screen.

I'm just powering the LCD screen using the car adapter it came with. I didn't do the popular auto-powerup mod to my Lilliput b/c again, I'm not THAT confident with soldering. So instead, I just used a zip-tie so that the on button is always pushed in. Whenever I turn on the car, the LCD screen just powers up automatically. No soldering required! Got that tip from someone here. I wish I remembered his name so I could give credit to him.
Granted, with the way things are, I can't adjust any of the settings on my Lilliput, but I'm happy with the way things are, so I have no need to change things. If I ever want to turn the LCD screen off, I just pull out the charger from the cigarette lighter.
I know my install isn't exactly the prettiest, but when everything is put together, you can't tell.
