97 Chevy Truck in progress...

I had it all installed for a while, but it was in a center consold between the passenger and driver seats. Looked kinda bad. So, I recently got a in-dash monitor and I'm in the process of getting it all setup. When I'm done, here is what it will be.

Computer:

nice setup, what LCD is that, and what video imputs does it support... (I'm looking for one that tucks away like that, with VGA input). I assume its also a touchscreen.

Yea, it's a VGA Touchscreen. It's basicly a Xenarc in an in-dash housing. Digitalww has them, or had them, I'm not sure if he is getting any more.

Awesome, anothe Chevy owner WOOT! Great install! A couple of stupid questions though, 1st what is the black thing on top of your hard drive? and 2nd I've searched but is the in dash a powered unit or do you manually pull it out?

You have to manually pull the LCD out of the dash, there are no motorized units yet. The black thing was an adapter I sort of made. The LCD was powered by a cigarette lighter so I powered it with the PSU via that adapter. Now, I have it just hooked up to a live 12v all the time. More pictures coming soon.

Thanks. It's an Olympus C-4000 Zoom (4MP). I got it about a week ago. Traded some guy the camera for an extra LCD monitor I had laying around the house. The pictures turned out pretty good. That was at meduim-low quality. High quality would have been too big.

hehe. I'm finishing the truck today so, look for some more pictures soon. I'll probably make a new thread since it will be done.

made me laugh too. the guys builds a nice car Pc and frodo wants to know what camera he used!

nice install btw. Those pics of the screen coming out are nice and clear, what camera did you use btw? (am joking). They are a big help to my motorised designs.
