Looks nice actually. It's not really ghetto. If you spend sometime cleaning up the wiring, it will look real nice.

So your inverter doesn't give any problems with your audio?

Photos of how I held it in place? Sure. I'll get them asap.

Audio? Like engine noise, inverter noise, and stray RFI? I had that at the beginning, but then I ran the audio wires along over the trim pieces of the passenger side above the doors, and down to the radio, then I used a ground loop isolator to make sure the slight 'buzz' was gone for sure.

Im really not sure, since there are many things that can cause the interference. At first I had the audio cables along the floor below the doors, with alot of other cables, and everything had its own grounding point. Since then I have grounded the carputer as well as the inverter and relay to the exact same spot. I will disconnect some cables and try it out, see if I can get it back and find the cause.

Hey how do you have your sound wired into the stock head unit? Some kind of adapter? Where did you get it? I have a 2002 Malibu that will soon be getting the carputer treatment.
    Thanks!

I used the GM9-AUX Adapter to connect my audio out to the AUX port on the back of the factory head unit. I don't think the GM9 will work on your year of Malibu since GM and Delco changed the style of the head unit. If you take out your radio, see if you have the AUX port (or CD Changer port). If so, then you might want to look at http://www.pie.net/aux_gm.htm . But I would do a little research to make sure it is the one you need. Then search for a distributer who is the cheapest, and get one online. It was very easy to connect.

The wall wart is ac to dc. Why do you go from dc to ac via inverter then ac back to dc via plug adapter? Cut that big ugly thing off and wire it to your cars 12 volt or your computers power supply. Then you can get rid of that strip. Plug everything directly into your inverter. Other than that, not too ghetto.

Oh, the big black block? Its for the 8-port switch. Im not really sure I will be keeping the the switch anyway. Each passenger has an ethernet port to connect to, but I rarely have passengers any way. It was a good idea, but I am thinking of scraping it.
