Do you have any problems with using the rear power outlet for your permanent live? I mean does the 12v drop out when you start the car or does the dc-dc supply cope ok?

I don't use it any more, I'm wired straight to the battery. There was no problems using the rear power outlet however with the Opus, as it is made to survive the cranks.

Did you have to drill through the engine compartment firewall or is there a loom with enough space to fit the cable through? and what gauge of wire did you use?

Hvae alook on my website, I have in the building section pictures of me feeding the wire through, I used 8 gauge to power my 500W amp and car PC

yeah it probably was... left hand drive cars look just as wrong to us brits just depends what your used to, personally I don't think a fat lot of the dash in the focus whatsoever, my next car won't be a ford, that's for sure!!! I should have never bought a non japanese car! At least they were designed for the right!
