you buy a ferrari for the same reasons you buy a Ducati....because it's different, it's italian, and it's sexy....not to mention the amount of engineering and advanced technology that goes into it.....to each his own =]

    though it's just a 355, it's still sexy

Red - what are you on about? Only a 355!!!!! 355 is lush, any ferrari is lush but i think you have to see them in the flesh to really appreciate them. Alwasy thought the Enzo and F40 were too plastic and flimsy until i got to see them and touch them for real.

I have seen them in person, Multiple times...I worked for a guy that had 5 of them....2-355s that he raced in the Farrari Challenge Series, and a 360 that he raced inthe same series.....

he also drove a 360 and a 550, was waiting for the 575M to come out so he bought the 550 to tide him over.....but he passed away...

he also had 2 Porsches, Z06, 2 Vipers (one of which he raced in the Viper days Race series), erc....

I just am not a big fan of the 355s when compared to other Ferraris...if someone gave me one, sure I would drive it, but I would take the money and put it on the new 430....that's one sick sick car...errr....work of art! maybe even a superamerica!?

and no, not every Ferrari is as bad *** as you say it is...the 512TR is a complete POS, the worst excuse for a Ferrari next to a kit car....

there are others but I don't want to thread jack any more....=]

and btw - the Enzo is too plasticish????? heh - maybe Carbon Fiberish!?

believe me, I've been around my fair share of Ferraris, be it races, or at the Houston dealership with a very good friend who works as a mechanic for them and the 333SP race team, and the challenge teams

As promised here are some pics of the stuff 'under the hood'. Forgive the not-very-neat wiring; I've still to do the cover for the false bottom - when that is done none of the components will be visible. I'm going to put some vents in the lid to allow air to circulate, but it will be covered in the same material as the rest of the compartment (or as close as I can find to it).

Pic 1145 just shows the amount of space I had to work with.

Pic 1146 shows the frame I've built to house everything. Starting at the top left, going clockwise, parts are: Carnetix P1280 power supply, remote operated relay board for remote start of the PC, Cubid 2699R case housing EPIA MII 12000, Alpine MRP-T220 amplifier. I had to put the amp in because I've removed the head unit from the car to install the screen.

Pic 1148 more of the same, except more of the cabling is visible. Everything you can see in this picture, height wise, is below the struts of the frame. Thus when I put the cover on it'll be supported by the frame. I've basically stolen a smidgen over three inches of the bottom of the storage compartment for the equipment.

Pic 1153 is just the remote relay board. The output of this feeds the Carnetix remote start wire. The sharper ones among you will notice that there aren't enough wires from this to make it work - there's another wire across the back connecting +12V to COM. I've got an unused relay on here as it's a two relay kit. I've still to fasten this board down as it was a late addition - I forgot I had it.

Pic 1159 is the remote for starting the PC.

If anyone wants any more pics or info, please shout and I'll do my best to provide.

This project has been quite interesting to put together. I'm already thinking of other things I want to add, but at the same time I'm trying to 'know when to quit'. I've got wireless network kit on order which is going to be a necessity for maintenance and file transfer.
