1994 Ford Explorer XLT CAR PC - LOTS OF PICS!!!

I have the same truck as you, 94 XLT, cept mine's the light grey leather interior. I was going to do something very similar to yours, however i have a few questions....

1) Where's the 4x4 buttons?
2) How'd you cap off the vent that's supposed to be there?
3) WHY DID YOU LOWER A 4x4 VEHICLE?

Also, out of curiosity, how much time did it take you to make the custom dash insert? Is that fiberglass, or it almost looks padded and vinyl'd?

no hard feelings here...

but that looks like bass boat black paint.....is it?

one tip - block sand - it will get rid of all of those waves in the bondo..

otherwise looks good!

hey what web cam is that? and does it actually work good? is it just a usb web cam ?

1st off thanks for posting :-D heres the answers to your questions
1. i got my truck used so i really didnt have a choice 2wd or 4x4 so yeah its a 2wd wen i poped off the vents there was the 4x4 plug back there but i just dont got the transmission
2. piece of plastic glewd to the front of it it dosnt show in the picture tho
3. i never go off roading lol and i hate the big gap between the wheels and the fenders it was only 30 bucks for the parts and i can remove it any time just gotta lift the truck up :-D

and for the dash piece wow that took about a month 1st time the screen broke so i sent it to the guy i got it from and he sent me a new one so that took about 2 weeks and its all bondo just that the paint is thick so it looks like that primer 2 layer paint 2 layer clear coat 1 layer

thanks for posting :-D ummm the paint was acctuly RUSTOLEUM METALIC BLACK thats what it said on the can lol dude got nooo idea how much i sanded every time it got good i picked out another flaw and then another and on and on so i just got tired of it and said do it as best as i can on this final day and put everythign 2gether u really cant tell wen u look at it from the inside but i kno theres room for improvment :-D

thanks for posting... umm its acctuly a crappy old school logitech quick cam it does the job i guess imreally bairly ever gonna use it its just there for the hell of it the cam was sitting around in my room so i thought hey lets put it in the car lol and yes its just a usb webcam

over all nice project. I'm not into the lowering.. of course if you could make it look like that saleen explorer.. then slamming it looks nice.. but that's just me..

I do go off- road from time to time.. even in the city.,.. curbs, medians, not an issue :-) those pesky on/off ramps come up on ya so quick sometimes

anyway .. looks like you're getting friendly with bondo too! .. I love the stuff.. I found if I used fiberglass sheetrock tape I can get nice strong results ..

I have a 1998 XLT 4wd ..

believe me, I do understand how much sanding you might have done...that's working with bondo for you...and I'm still going to say block sand. it will get rid of some of the waves that you have.

lol i know what u mean about the curbs i can still hit the curbs just gotta do it slower and sideways i got alot of room under my mudguard and the tire fits SNUG bairly touching the fender and im about to weld on some steel plates on the shock mounts so it dosnt bust up the shocks
