Skyline 1988 GXE - warning many photos

yup, just finished my skyline 1988 gxe P.O.S install. it was quite cheap too.

i wanted to make it as un-noticible as possible so people didnt want to break in. - thats why i havent cleaned the car for the past 2 years :P

Ive got a fake front panel with ashtray flip down din, and cigarette lighter which clips on top of the lcd.

All prices in australian dollars:

$70 Aux in adapter (pioneer)

$65 300W inverter (switches on to charge laptop after car accessories on)

$191 7" lilliput/ non touch lcd

$100 usb gps

$60 pcmcia card for tv out

old laptop (celeron 500, 64 mb ram, 4 Gb hdd - hey it runs starcraft)

old 2 channel amp

total = $486

laptop under seat only needs to be switched on (hibernates after inverter is off).

The best part about this install is that it is completely upgradable im going to put a regular compy in after i kill my laptop, or when i have more money.

yeah i was in a hurry to get mine, i had my whole setup done in 2 days. got the parts a few days ago, and just finishing up now. ill take some more pics tomorow and post them up on my website.

Hey Grum nice work :)

Pretty good for a small budget the idea of hiding the LCD is great ;) no1 will look for it at all even if the car was stolen you would still get it back :) altho the amp and all would be gone lol

Still nice job on using the parts i like it :buddy:
