e36 has a different design than an e46... the e46 3er was just discontinuted and now the e90 body style is coming out.... the E before the numbers stands for the word that means development in german. hope this helps...
hope to have a setup soon in my e46er...

I noticed you have a small speaker/tweeter behind your screen. Does that sound helps? Like through the vents or something?

    Hi trd-4runner

yeah, a really late answer, anyway maybe you still haven´t finished your setup and you could use some information. Well, i cut out the buttom site of the vents tunnel (invisible)that sound of the ETON 300 good-old 5" deep midspeaker center gets out. For the center + 2 Eton tweeters centers, taken from new discovery series (http://www.etongmbh.com) i built a small wood housing and screwed it on the air tunnel. Not really spectacular!

Further i used my old-scool Audiocontrol ESP-3 controller from 1991. It´s a very tricky analoge sound processor which adds the differential stereo signal to each stereo speaker, also to the center speaker. Result is a very impressive stereo surround sound, the speakers get unlocatable

The only link i found is:

    http://www.sv-art.ru/eng/brands/audi...html#complect4

Maybe there are meanwhile better technoligies, but for me it still works great.
Also the old ETON 300 16cm Door-System from 1991 run puuurectly. Much better then new Discovery line from ETON.

Main-result: The center brings enormous sound advantages, also due to the fact that location of the E46 door speakers are not pretty ideal
