Well the hardware is all the same, but this is now installed in the suburban.... no more little toyota truck.
It fits inside the center console so the only things visible are the monitor and controls.
I finally have access to a camera, this set up moves from my truck to my GFs Suburban in about 5 minutes.
Specs: Celeron 300a on this MB Powered by a PC power and cooling DC to DC PS, a 20 Gig Maxtor 3.5 inch desktop drive. All of this fits in a 10" x 10" x 4" custom foam core case (see this site for details)
The LCD sits on the passenger seat or in a pocket behind the seat.
Controls: a touchpad hacked out of a keyboard and a programable keypad.
Case cooling.
The LCD power connecter from the DC to DC power supply.
The back of the case, look at the VGA connector, the LCD power runs into the connector and to the screen with the signal.
The sound signal is sent to an aux in on the HU for the Toyota and a wired FM Modulator for the Suburban.
Hope you like it

Wow this was an old thread. Is the lcd still sitting on the passenger seat or in a pocket behind the seat? It only took you two years to move it?

I'm confused. The monitor mounts to the case and the case mounts to the dash? Do you have pics, I'm interested in seeing how you connected everything. Thanks.
The pics are from the install in my Toyota, the PC is now in a suburban. The motherboard HD and PS are in the center console. the controls are on top of the console. The LCD is still not mounted.
I am considering purchasing a smaller screen and mounting it, just attempting to get past the price tag.
Additionally, it is no longer a portable install![]()
