First, I would like to thank everybody in this forum for all the tips, tricks and solutions. A special Thanks goes to Frodo for the amazing Front End and Rando for the USB 5v cut off solution. Because of this forum I was able to get this project installed and running. And I got to say… I had fun doing it.

The Computer is in the trunk... in a IBM netvista case... see picture #9 above.Wheres the computer located, though?
Nope... I was not able to come up with a motorized solution for the screen as of yet... I'll be looking at diferent solutions to that... but for now, it is mounted to the top of the lid and it swings out as I open it, with the help of a spring. and it stays very tight in it rest position when open...does that screen pop up automatically?

I was thinking of putting a screen on the dash and using servo motors to move it up and down. Only thing is how to get the servos to move before windows starts... or (once your system is working reliably) do you need to?

I suppose you could have it totally seperate from the computer, with a seperate switch, or have it wired into the ignitionOriginally Posted by Zenith_Warrior
I dont know much about servos though
EDIT - BOOM! Way to hook up the servo, courtesy of Bugbyte http://www.dellabarba.com/ibug/Insta...stallation.htm (but I'm sure you already read that...already)

if you guys want more info on servo controlls then look for some of my posts on servo stuff (search my name and servo) for cheap standalone systems and mechanism ideas. For PC controlled stuff look at bugbytes setup and John _Draws gti screen.
some links as i had them in my subs. bugbytes setup can be found from his profile...
