Keyboard is mounted with velcro so ya it is detachable. Where it is mounted it is perfect for passengers, but when I am stopped I can easily put it on my lap.Originally Posted by Zaffir

GPS is on the dash in the right corner.
I haven't mounted my dvd drive yet, so right now only a cd drive.

right now the laptop is powered through a cheap-o inverter. though since i will need to plug in at least two more ac items i will be changing my power setup in the near future, i am just not exactly sure what to do, even after countless hours of reading the forum and doing searches.
my sound is just a 1/8"male -> dual phono --> rca cable that goes to my eclipse amp that is custom mounted in my wagon floor, which then powers mb quart premium components. sounds beautiful.
another problem i am having is i cant use my ipod right now because for some reason it isnt being charged while plugged into its usb2.0 slot, so it dies on me super quick.
any ideas?
are you running your usb2 from the boot? if the cable is too long you are probably losing power.... - batteries charge from amps, not volts, and if the cable is too long the usb wont be able to output the right power through it - also do you have any direct control over the audio volume, not the windows control?

I am going to be getting a powermate as soon as I go to the mall, but for now i just have the windows control and volume buttons on my keyboard, (inconvenient for quick mutes/changes)
My usb 2.0 is just a pcicard or whatever its called that goes into the side of the laptop. Then my iPod plugs straight into that, so i doubt it is a length issue. the only thing i can think of is that when i bought my usb 2.0 card, some of them had a power adapter and some didnt. mine didnt. that is probably it, i just figured that since it didnt it would draw power through the laptop...?
i really need help figuring out how to deal with all these power issues, i have at least 3 ac items i need to get power to somewhere/how.
Thanks for the replies/help.
most likely your USB card is not self-powered w/o the ac adapter. I have run into the same thing on USB hubs. They work w/o the AC adapter but won't charge unless plugged in.
Also, there are some internal USB ports (typically on the front of a PC and totally thinking desktop here) that are also no able to charge devices.
