did you put your custom case in the trunk?? did u mount it somehow? id be afraid of HD vibration
My case is mounted on the floor of the trunk and pretty secured with some Velcros to strap it to the carpet. So far I can't say I've had any issues with HDD vibration...
fraychild... so percentage wise... how stable would you say your carpc system is? also, are you shutting off your carpc everytime you turn off the car? or do you hvae it on standby all the time? (if i get the biostar system with the amd xp-m, i dont wanna have to deal with winxp booting and crap anymore, i want it to get RIGHT back to my media player (road runner)) thanks :) (im using an optima yellow top btw and im planning on running that as my second battery for my carpc/car audio)
How do you like the Powermate? Is it worth the ~$70 I saw it advertised at? I've been debating whether or not to pick up an alternative to touchscreen volume control.

Well, my Powermate didn't cost me anything NEAR $70!!! I bought it off Ebay for $38 from a private seller... and it worked WONDERS!!! I loved it... I only sold it because I had a silver one and I figured a black would suit my black interior better! You want one... trust me!!

I can't say my system is running 100% cuz' I'm still missing a lot of the stuff I want and I still have some tweaking/customizing to do... which is hard when you have a full time job and a full time girlfriend... LOL :D
I'm using my Opus and letting it take care of the ShutDown/TurnOn... no "power" buttons... I only have a reset button as a "Just In Case" button... The system is turned on/off every time, and as mentioned, I haven't tweaked with Standby/Hybernating yet... All in due time I guess.

I'm now running on Hybernation all the time and I also have RR running from my startup in case I wanna do a fresh reboot of the system. My system is very stable, the only issue I used to have has been resolved by disabling my Wireless connection and access it when I need it only. So far, so good.
