I have a blitzsafe adapter hooked into the factory headunit and a 175watt invertor running my pc. Today I got in the car and now there is terrible static on all the speakers! I dont know what could have happened. I pulled the radio and the dash out and looked at everything and nothing was loose or broken or whatnot. I even bought a brandnew invertor and still static. Please help it is driving me crazy.

(I thought maybe it is the pc so I tried my laptop) One thing to note is I can have the invertor on and the laptop on running through the blitzsafe just fine, it is when I plug the laptop into the invertor that I get noise.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh and I am running the invertor off the cigarette lighter.

PS: I also noticed something strange that when I goto turn the car off it takes about 5 seconds for the radio to shut off now. I dont remember it doing that before

I remember reading in the forums about interference between inverters and audio. Is it possible that hacking the screen to run off the inverter caused this? Have you always been running the inverter out of the cig lighter? If possible, try and run a direct feed off the battery.

I assume you didn't have problems before this? How do you like the Blitzsafe unit?

I just checked my TL. As soon as the key goes to off, the stereo goes off right away. No 5 second delay.

The 5 second delay disappeared. I tried also running the inverter straight from the battery and no luck. I dont think it has anything todo with the screen b/c I dont even have it in the car right now hehe. Blitzsafe has been good to me up until now

Sound is fixed for now I believe it was due to a faulty blitzsafe. I hooked up a regular cassete to aux adapter to the headunit and everything works fine no static. I am returning the blitzsafe to the company and getting a new one, to late to get my money back Oh and I noticed the sound using the tape adapter is much higher than with blitzsafe. I have the sound at 2 notches now on the display and before I had it at about 4 or 5.

    tape adapter vs. blitzsafe

So the tape adapter is actually better than the blitzsafe?

Not only would it save me money, but I won't have to disassemble my dash. Sweet!!

Thats pretty cheap are you sure you are getting both parts for the a/c controls? There is the buttons and also the brain part, they snap together each costing a lil over 100 bucks
