And now the newly installed GPS mounted under the front dash, its really sweet.
That looks like a nice install but the flat black with no texture looks out of place IMO... I bet the grey of the over head a/c wood look okay, or even covering it in coarse leather/vynyl.. but that doesnt matter, awesome install.![]()

Wow that is great. By chance would you know what years the mostly electronic A/C control were implemented. I have a 2000 Jeep, and I know the insides are similar in many aspects.
Again, superb job, that is amazing.

Its difficult to see in the photos but the dash does have some texture and does fit fairly well with the rest of the dash. Granted it isn't the same texture but it does fit.
It would have been nearly impossible to match the factory texture so we figured that trying would have been an obvious failure. Choosing something that was complementary was a better choice.
Your install looks great! I had a couple questions...
The black frame that was integrated into the stock dash...is that from the monitor or is that homebrewed? As far as depth, were there any clearance issues, or did you remove the LCD housing? Thanks
Oh, one more thing...what do you use to power the GIANT LCD?
We completely removed the LCD housing. The front that we integrated is from the original monitor casing. There were some depth issues but we just whacked off some of the supports behind the dash for the original components.
We use a power inverter to power the LCD and computer.
Looks Great!!!! How did you mount the monitor? Is it secured to the removeable bezel itself or secured behing it and the dash just 'covers' it. I secured mine to and just covered it with the bezel, so I do have spaces in spots between the monitor and the bezel. That I'm no too happy with.

The LCD is secured to the front panel. The remaining dash clips hold it on just fine.
I'm sad to report that we had to rip EVERYTHING out of this truck. It all worked great but we've gotten rid of the truck and will be moving on to another project shortly. It took countless hours to put this all together, install the alarm/remote start/etc and took only 10 minutes to pull it all!
