Thanx...yes it is kind of cramped in there, I think the worst part (other than wiring the whole thing) was taking the rear speaker deck out, man that was painful!!! Well....hope to see some pics of yours soon, BTW the bezel I fab'd for the screen was a donation from an 01 GT that was totaled, just a small useless factOriginally Posted by Scorpnstail

Hi Willy-Mach1:
Ok is my first time posting here and I have been looking to get a touch screen for my car as a future project but my brother gave me for my B-day a GPS so now I have to start working on my Car PC, for now I just want the Screen cus its hard to use a laptop with the gps.
I wanted to know how did you got to mount the screen, is it on top or you cut some of the center dash plastic, cus I notice there is metal behind the plastic[above the foglight, rear def, etc. buttons ]. how are you holding the screen?
My original plans are to replace the AC with my Sony receiver and relocate it somewhere else.
thanks.
That's so sweet! One question though, why did you paint the dash bezel black, or why didn't you paint the monitor bezel black?
Hi, I feel honored that your first post was on my project threadOriginally Posted by Blue_Night
. I actually mounted it from the back. I took apart the screen and used the front part for mounting. The top part of the screen is flush with the bottom part of the A/C controls section and I cut a little on the bottom of the bezel. The screen is held pretty securely with the bondo and fiberglass. My next project is to get a dvd/cd rom mounted under the screen, right above the fog light, etc buttons. I dont know if ford changed it but in my car what is behind the buttons is plastic so I just took my dremel to it and cut it off. There is a metal piece that goes from front to back that is the support for the head unit but that was just screwed to the back. If you take a look at my worklog you might get a better idea of how the screen was mounted. If you have any questions just let me know.
Rock on and let's get some more mustangs in here!!

Thanks....love your avatar!! The original bezel is actually silver, the mach1 is a special edition mustang and one of the "special" parts is the center console trim being silver, it kinda goes with the instrument cluster. I also thought that it would look better completely silver and that i would blend the lilli's buttons better...Originally Posted by Cris

I see what you did thats cool, I was thinking on buying a nes bezel and start working from there. So the support of the head unit can be taken out? that would help me alot. thanks.Originally Posted by Willy-Mach1
What is a nes bezel?Originally Posted by Blue_Night
I bought a stock bezel off ebay from a wrecked 2001 GT, it was $30 after shipping, great deal! and I didn't have to mess with my stock one just in case I need to put it back on![]()
This might give you a better idea of what I did....

im not sure if I want to cut the metal thing but I guess I'll have to see and mesure things out. cus I might put a pc in there too.
looks awesome man... i can't believe you had the balls to dremel off that bracket :P I didn't and managed to get my stuff to fit. My bezel is going in for paint this week (body shop buddy is going to paint match it to the stock bezel) so the carputer should be back in the car next weekend hopefully. Now I'm working on my custom fibreglass sub box and amp rack for the trunk. I'll post it all up once everything is 100% done
once again, awesome job.
