Sorry for the long time inbetween replies, I got a job and began to neglect this forum.

I don't have pics of it closed at this time, sorry.

The screen is held in place with a custom housing which the screen slides into. This housing is permenantly attached to the swivel unit but the screen can slide in and out. Also, there is an L shaped metal piece used to fasten the screen in place using the screw located at the bottom of the monitor where the stand would normally go.

Great to hear from you, yeah that strut thing was not going to work, so far I been driving with a hole on that center piece, I tried doing my install like yours, but during trial period the glare got to me, and I have 20% tint on my front windows...then again I live in the dessert. Anyway I'll prob' recess the screen on a fiberglass mold. I would really like to see more pics of your screen setup! for your location I think its great.

what software did you use, you said it was custom? Will that GPS software work well with the more popular frontends?

hey onix, after doing more serching, I realized that that the part that I received was not for the navi lcd bezel, but the regular part with the two vents which is quite pricey imo . Mazda does not sell the navi lcd separately, they sell the whole thing for over 2 grand!!!!!!!!!!
Either way I seen another alternative for it, there is a $100 stand that goes in the same place that the navi goes. It does not fold and you need to cut into your current console I dont remember the website but you can search for it over in mazda3forums.com !!!
