    RE: GPSSecure

    XBrady,

This is very cool software, I was not aware anything like this existed. I have only recently started to look into this.

I didn't have much time today to check it out. I will sit down with our programer tommorow and see how we can integrate it. XBrady, what language is this written in? Is there an SDK? If the answers are in the documention don't worry about answering I'll find it tommorow.

I encourage anyone thinking about starting a carputer business to do it. There is no competition, once you sell the idea of carputers to a company you will sell to them for life. Nothing can match the functionality of a computer. Compare it to any DVD or CD Changer out there and it will win hands down. If more technical people start businesses like this we will all benifit from better products and new idea's.

I am a big supporter of the open source projects but because they are open source they normally can't afford to have people work full time. Even the hard core non-comercial carputer guys have to reconginize the advantages of going comercial.
Spent all my money on carputers now I have to work a real job.

I actually don't have a whole lot of documentation but I have a pretty good explination of what it is in the forum. This was written in C#. No SDK yet but it is in the plans. GPSSecure is still in beta but version 1.0 will be coming out hopefully soon. Just need to get one thing worked out with the dang Delorme GPS receivers.

i have to go back to aoLhaTer's post here and comment on this. while i do agree that your frontend system is (for lack of a better word) crappy, i do have to agree with you 12vsystems on the fact that YOU are the one who has to run the tech support and whatnot for all your systems. so its better if you know the program inside and out rather than use someone elses program and then have to rely on tech support from others either here on the forums or whatnot.

and i applaud you for your efforts to try and make carpc's a bit more mainstream. good luck.

Fair enough, I can't please all people but at least you guys appreciate what we are doing. We didn't expect much of a response from the MP3CAR members, they are the ones that want the most for the least. There is nothing wrong with that I built my first carputer out of a P2 Toshiba portege for $300. I like to come to these forums to get new idea's and feedback so thank you.

Go to any technical forum and get people to post reviews on XP and I'm sure there will be a lot of burns. I think it's part of releasing any commercial software.
