Us poor guys from the UK initally got the IS200 (slower 2.0 engine) and later the IS300 was released - but it is only available in auto and is actually slower then the US version for some reason!!

You lucky people - I'm not jealous!
Doesn't you car have the same engine as in an mr2? Or is that only in Japan?

    My fellow Lexus Owner!

Er.... Possibily. In Japan the car is known as the Toyota Altezza. This comes in two verisons:
    - The AS200 version is the same 6 cylinder engine as the UK IS200.
    - The RS200 on the otherhand has a "Beams" 4-cylinder engine which has over 210bhp as standard and is very tunable. This maybe the same engine as the MR2???

New MR2's a 1.8VVTi not 2.0 (Thats the new soft top one, not the old one that gets made into Ferrari 355 wannabe's )

I thought it would probably the same as a Toyota Primera 2.0 but with RWD box instead of FWD, but the IS200 is a 6-cyl engine isn't it?

Nice car them IS200's, shame they lack a bit of grunt I've seen one on TV with the 4.3ltr V8 from an LS and that went like stink

@Annes - If you see me around Rochdale/Oldham/Littleborough/Bury/Darwen areas in my 1999 Dark Blue 200SX give us a flash & a wave

I think the only company stupid enough to make a 2l 6-cyl engine is mazda
You're thinking of the IS300, which shares the same engine as the MKIV Supra N/A, Lexus SC300, and Lexus GS300.
