Love the carputer "case". Turned out awesome, I think I might do something like that in the Focus... Blends in nicely.

You did the screen mount yourself ? What did you used ?

thanx rs3rs, that thing was a pain in the butt 'cause of the rounded molding in the trunk... lotsa cardboard cut outs to see if it fit, then cuttin the wood. but luckily, i found a craft store that had a fabric that almost exactly matched my trunk~!

CapitaineFritz - it's just a cut up lilliput.. I basically bought a scosche single din stereo adapter, and dremeled it to hold the lcd. then bondo'd the piece to be smooth. i can post a more detailed blurb if ya want

is the Optima a 2nd battery to power the computer only? I was thinking of doing the same. If you did add a 2nd battery, can you post what you used?

The dash trim kit really looks nice, I think I'm going to buy it someday Did you took the vinyl one on eBay ?

I'll try to post the pics of my carputer install tomorrow ! I've used black carpet to cover mine and it came out pretty well too also it's "invisible"

ACleanSC4 - Yea, it's an auxiliary battery (2nd batt). I just used a surepower isolator, which essentially allows the alternator to charge both my main and aux battery at the same time while keeping the two systems separate. I run all my accessories (ie, amp & comp) off the optima (it's the yellowtop D51). I can post a pic of the isolator tomorrow.

CapitaineFritz - actually, my dash is all painted. I tried doing the whole vinyl thing and it was quite the hassle. One thing you should note is that the middle part with the A/C controls is essentially just a sticker. People said they used heat to help get the vinyl on, but I melted that part since it's really thin. (luckily, you can buy a replacement for that section, which really is just a thick sticker, hehe) So I just used some rustoleum silver spray on all the parts instead of the vinyl thing. It's workin fine
