I love the setup, So I am going to try a similar thind, Got all my piece cut ready to put together, Dont understand how you have then thing stand ?
Are u using a bracket orsomething ? If so what about the factory trunk mat, and the piece that is under it? Please let me know if you get a chance.

hey thanx akim and cdm~! oh, cdm, I'm actually not powering my pc with the inverter. It's just an addition to the car that I wanted. I'm using an Opus psu for the comp

the red circles are where my housing is held up. You can't really see the far one, but the closer one you can see the hinge. I simply bought a metal hinge from lowe's and mounted the case directly to the floor... I had to cut the trunk floor mat along where the housing starts.

The screen fabrication looks great, I cant get a good finish on mine; What did u do to shape it and make sure its the same shape on both sides?

Hehe, did you watch Sunday's Pimp My Ride? They did some work on this guy's 2003 Corolla, and Mad Mike said, "This is the only Corolla with a computer in it"

Yea, I was going to hardwire it, but I need to find the best place to put it... plus I have to take it out alot to give to my wife on her long drives to school

Oh, and Rafster, I saw that Pimp My Ride... had a pretty good laugh myself. I don't feel like they do a good job with this kind of stuff... the dash looked all weird, and honestly fricken monitors near the wheels on the OUTSIDE?!? ridiculous...

First of all, I'm quite pleased to see several Corolla S owners going forward with Car PC installs. I too have a 2003 Corolla S, and am interested in adding Carputer capabilities to my car.

Questions for everyone:
-When you use the 2din space where the stereo used to be, how do you get your AM/FM reception?

-What is the biggest screen that can fit there? I know there's a Lilliput 8" screen available. Will that fit too?

-Have you considered mounting a 1 din head unit at the bottom and an in-dash motorized LCD at the top? I'm personally leaning towards that, but I'm concerned about the agle of stereo, since from the outside the stock unit seems to be seated at an angle relative to the ground based on the face not being completely vertical.

Anyway, great job everyone. I'm pretty excited about this!!! If you guys wouldn't mind sending me links to you installs, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
