The stock radio isn't actually a full double-din size, it's more like 1.5 din. To get radio reception I bought an adapter for the motorola plug that the stock radio uses. (actually, I think I had to buy two adapters, one motorola to coax male, and one coax female-female because they didn't sell a motorola to coax female one)-When you use the 2din space where the stereo used to be, how do you get your AM/FM reception?
well it depends... if you are ok with cutting into the actual dash piece then you could probably fit an 8" screen (without the stock lcd case). I simply modified a din adapter to house the 7" screen in the stock radio slot. If you do this, then 7" is the max.-What is the biggest screen that can fit there? I know there's a Lilliput 8" screen available. Will that fit too?
again, you won't be able to fit both because it ain't double-din size. also, not even speaking about carpc's, if you buy the single din adapter it still sticks out because of the angle of the stock radio.-Have you considered mounting a 1 din head unit at the bottom and an in-dash motorized LCD at the top? I'm personally leaning towards that, but I'm concerned about the agle of stereo, since from the outside the stock unit seems to be seated at an angle relative to the ground based on the face not being completely vertical.
anyways, good luck with the install~! make sure you post it so we can all benefit![]()

Bulgogi, thanks for the input. I've actually taken pictures of my interior to figure out where I can put what. Tomorrow, my P4 Mini-ITX barebone will arrive. I'm already thinking what kind of realtime tricks I can do with a P4 3.2 GHz HT processor. Maybe by next week I'll be done with the hardware. The software side is where most of the work should occur.
BTW, how many amps does our Alternator put out?
Anyway, I will shortly post my Install.
