STOLEN...
On the evening of Sunday September 4th 2005. My car was broken into between the hours of 6:30 and 8:30 PM in the parking lot of Commack Cineplex, in Commack NY. The perps broke my front passenger side window, ripped my front console open, stole my Monitor, my Head-Unit and caused several other damages such as cut wires and stole other valuables that were in the car.
Tragedies like this happen unfortunately, but for now, my Carputer set-up is no longer complete, and only time will tell if there will be a Ver. 2.0.

Hey Fray,
great install! Just curious, is that gps unit waterproof? or did you seal it? Also, is there anything holding the computer down (especially the psu)? btw, love infiniti's![]()

My Install
He he he! I'm currently using Velcro strips on the 4 bottom corners to allow it to grip to my trunk's carpet and prevent it from sliding left and right... It's not the best case, but for the first one I've ever built, I'm pretty happy with it...I do plan on covering it with the carpet material someday and place it in a more convenient area...
As for the GPS unit, it was out there only for the pictures, but I have it in the trunk on a regular basis... Although I've read people saying that it works great rain or sun, hot or cold... It's just that it has this lil' blinkin' red light on the side which may attract the wrong attention...
Thanks!!![]()
Looking good! Nice work, sharp car.![]()

Is this where the witty comment goes?97 Black pearl Mazda Miata MX-5 Carpc V2? maybee..
Sweet install on a sweet ride.![]()
Thanks guys! I'm not sure if I wanna keep the case the way it is... as I'd rather have everything all inside with no wires showing. I'm currently working on getting a mic and work my way through Voice-Rec and I'm also waiting for a better antenna in the mail for the WiFi...

Yea I know! I hate the fact that it's hangin' outside like this... but when I was building the case... my stupid @$$ was so focused on making things compact.. I cut the wood with just about 1.5" wider than the motherboard on one side... and focused the height on that of the WiFi PCI card.Originally Posted by Cris

I still have a few tricks up my sleeves though... so we'll see what I can come up with to hide it all inside...
