what is that piece you used to cover the top of the HU? Where did you get it? Install looks damn clean, nice work.

edit* nevermind, reread and found you used a gauge housing.

Thanks for the positive comments... now only to iron out all the bugs and add all the things in my "to do" list.

The motherboard doesn't provide enough power to power USB hard drives/DVD writers..... so looks like I'll have to fashion my own power supply for my USB hub. Hm.

Nice Job on the install. I just last weekend put my mobo + HD in a case and put it under the passenger's seat. Well, I haven't put the seat back in yet.

I went with the Cubid 2677 case, $64 from directron.com.

I like your boot screen, how did you do that?

phc: I did the boot screen using AWBMTools - I took an EPIA BIOS and replaced the Award logo with a Subaru logo, and set it to "Show Logo on Boot". Worked quite well, though it's slightly off-center vertically - but that's no big deal, since it stays on the screen for all of a few seconds.

Funnily enough, I was thinking of going with that EXACT case. But here in Montreal, I think it wouldn't work out since I don't think there's any way of shock-mounting the drive inside (how did you do it, if at all?)... which is why I went with my ghetto plexiglass case, but with pretty good spring shock mount.

Yunusyu: No pictures, but the bezel comes from the man himself - phc in the post just above. His bezels are *excellent* (and I'll bet you ANY Subaru owner with a clean Lilliput install gets them from him.)

One of the best, and cleanest installs around. great job. I like what you did with your HU, rather than ditching it. Again, awesome job for being on a budget.
