sounds great, the reason i asked about how you fixed it to the roof is because i am planning a similar thing in my hilux, but my centre light is part of the rear view mirror
meh, ill figure something out.....
keep up the good work, its looking great
for the back.. ive made a braket that attaches to the roof via the center light holes.
then when the console is hinged up it slides over the braket and there is 2 screws either side.. that hold it.. these are the only 2 visable screws.. but i will put caps on em or something nice..
now its up i have forget to cus out a little hole in the base to attach the light nuderneth it.. so now im gona have to take the mobo out and take it down and jig saw a hole.. im stupid for forgeting..

This is kind of what I was thinking I was going to expoy the top bracket in and make a small shroud for the fan to draw the heat out of the vents at the top of the screen. i haven't had a chance to get it yet. The guy at work that makes all my little sheet metal projects has been too busy doing proper work. I thought it was quite rude for work to actually get him to do stuff for them Don't they know I have a project to finish!I'll let you know how I go with it.

phobos: u got any cross beans across the roof that u could screw and tap into? or u could make a console that runs across the front of ur window.. it'l will be driving like u have ur sun visors down all the time though..
meddler: works got me doing work 2 atm so thats why i havent had a chance to do anything.. dam work... there is that screw hole on the top left hand side just above urr red line that doesnt do anything.. i was thinking of a brace from there to somewhere on the other side.. i havent figured the other side out yet..
I was just going to epoxy / plastic weld it on. That way to remove the screen you just undo the bottom bracket and slide the monitor out.

after looking at my roof, i realised it is a short lived idea.... no cross-beams to attach a length-wise install, and going accross is out of the question because my hair polishes the roof-liner as it is so ill have a handy blind allowing me to see SFA, lol, thanks for the suguestions though
mick:
nice work on the lilliput mount. looks excellent considering you havnt had to open the screen!
I am in Brisbane, and i want to buy the same lilliput you have. Where did you buy it from? And have you had any issues with it so far?
I tried pm'ing you a while ago but i dont think you got it?
thanks
na sorry mate i dont think i ever got it..
the screen i got is from ebay. was 350 delivered..
just search for "lilliput 2005 model"
should be heaps there
meddler: i made up my top braket.. pretty siple design that will come easily without having to glue it all on
on the left side i just drilled a hole and put a pin in to hold the ally strip down..
and the other side i used the hole that was there and i used a fat plastic screw in it..
this screw on the side prevides the tension. and i put a layer of foam between the screen and the ally stip so i dont strantch the screen to much
excellent work. I am going to try to work on mine tomorrow.
