    so basicly they have no power in my rterritory (on the port jervis line)

    they have jurisdiction on NY portion of the Port Jervis line.

    Snap. Cool, so now if i see an MTA Police cruiser i'll slow down. Till now i didn't, thinking that they only have power in the MTA field...

    And yeah, I have used/know about many trunking systems, but the blirp itself isnt an identifying trate... AFAIK the iDEN system isnt really provided by anyone else than Nextel and other smaller cell networks (Boost, etc)... it requires more antennae since it uses really a cell of networks as opposed to few highpowered tx/rxers.... oh well... it would make sense that they use something like nextel though...

    Their trunking network is very secure (in terms of people listening in and such), and should be pretty widespread coverage throughout most areas...
    Well, boost just utilizes the Nextell System. IDEN is aprotocal. There are many PS systems using IDEN, you just don't know about them because they are not Commercial in nature, that people would know about them.

    Since Iden is a Protocal, it can be used with any frequency. In Public service, it is generally 800mhz trunking. 800 mhz does not have the range limitation that higher frequencies.

    That is WAAAAY to much junk piled into that cruiser. There is no room for other equipment. I've seen pc's with just as much functionality to it,taking up much less space.
