    Hello again,
Mugu: I thought of buying a startup/shutdown controller as mentioned, but dont know wich one. Of cause, a lot of functions they come along with are not required in our cases. But we pay for them, so I search for a tiny relay to close the circuit. Any ideas?!
Davis 449: Once again very fast!!!!
If I read between the lines your power-supply has no continious plus?! Mine has and would drain the battery of the car if the laptop remaines pluged in hibernation.

Well, I think I may be having issue with power drainage, but mine isn't due to hibernation. I think it's more due to the fact that I have my hibernation set to 15 minutes after idle. That's what I believe is draining my laptop's battery so fast and causing me to have to startup all the way here recently. I believe around 1-5min. is better.

So, could I wire up a battery and a switch to a telephone wire, with one end plugged into the computer, and then hit the switch to complete the circuit, turning on the computer because of the signal?

You mean wake on ring? http://www.qsl.net/yo5ofh/hobby%20ci...e_circuits.htm ring generator (no, i didnt read the page).

Basically, having just a battery will not emulate a incoming telephone ring. I think it's something like 48V for ring signal. There are commercial solutions for something like this, i know there is a remote wireless PCI card. I'll dig around and see what I can.

Here is the first pics of the install in my new 99 C 280 Sport. I sold the other motorized screen and went with a Xenarc non-motorized. It makes it easier to operate my HVAC controls with this Xenarc and I like the more solid construction better. This installtion requires no wire cutting at all. We did it right this time and cargo tied the wires and concealed them a little better in both the interior and the trunk. The only issue I have is that the Xenarc kinda flickers. I think this could be due to thte way I have it powered, I am using the 12V cigarrette lighter adapter wired to an add a circuit with a female 12V end to power it this time, cause I didn't want to cut wires. Maybe someone could tell me something about this issue? I will post more pics when I get my MP3 adapter from formymercedes.com and finally get sound.

The reason your Xenarc is flickering is because the 12V power it is getting is fluctuating up and down from 12V. It needs to be a regulated 12V. When I hooked up my Xenarc to the cigarette lighter when it was first hooked up (for testing) it flickered also. As soon as I ran the screen off of a regulated 12V (Opus) then it looks perfect.

OK, here are the updated pics with everything working in my 1999 C 280 Sport. Sorry it's taken so long but it was hard to get a hold of a digicam.
