I understand you wrote your own software. Is it available for other people to use? It looks tight!
I didn't see any way to use a M1-ATX power supply for computer power.... The power requirements for the notebook are just too different. I chose to use a docking station which gave me access to the power button in the dock which could be used to shut it down, but you'd need a delay-relay as it is momentary only.....Originally Posted by maha
The other thing you might consider is just letting ut shut down from power management.... That's what I use "just in case" I forget to shut it down myself. Once my ignition is off, the notebook switches to notebook battery.... I have power management set to shut down when battery power reaches 75% for everyday driving..... If I don't shut it down, it simply shuts down by itself....

I'd be more than happy to share any of the code... It might be helpful if someone was going to use a serial relay board to control anything, but it is kind of "specialized" to this application.... It was written in VB....
Thanks for the comments!

where is the did you get the relay controller from? and how did you wire the strobe controller to control pattern by the relay board??
I was wondering the same thing - where did you get the relay controller from? There's a few different ones I've seen around the net - which one did you go with?
Also - email sent about code

i really want to know how you can control the flash pattern with the Serial Relay Board ?
I'm using a R85-PRO from controlanything.com. Take a look at the wiring diagram I posted.... I'm using a Whelen strobe Controller which has 3 wires you switch to control pattern... Depending on which wires you switch, you select a different pattern.... I simply use 2 relays on the serial board as pattern relays with the 3rd wire as common.... The software simply closes the relay or relays needed to choose the pattern.....Originally Posted by kickercivic1
I have the R85-PRO on USB, and you just send it ascii characters to tell it what to do.....
Hope that helps!!
