Whelen makes a strobe controller that allows you to select pattern by closing contacts between 3 wires..... Take a look at the wiring diagram I posted... You'll see strobe pattern selector wires I simply am controlling with the relays to change the pattern!

    Good Luck!

that looks great. and its cool how you got so creative with it. hope its able to maintain itself well. car looks great too.

regarding using the laptop, i probably missed something when i was reading, but first off, i don't understand the point of the relay. i know you said something about having a one second delay but why would you need that.

second, how is your power supply connected to the relay? did you use an inverter? splice the cord and attached it?

third, am i understanding this correctly...the dell docking station allows you to power it on/off? how does the switch allow you to power it on off then? where specifically is the switch going to on the docking station. these are really bad questions i know but im unclear on them. sorry.

nice to see another vette on the boards! Very clean install, how does it sound with the stock bose set up and how did you interface with it? (soundgate adapter?)

Thanks! I saw your setup right after I started on mine..... GREAT install!
Actually, it sounds quite a bit like the stock Bose setup.... I'm using the stock Bose Bass amps in the front speakers and added a 4 channel amp for the rest....

Yep... I used a Soundgate interface. It's about the only way to do it correctly. I used a USB sound card to get all the audio connections up front, so the install was about the same as installing an aftermarket stereo.....

The interesting part was the power antenna.... If you look at the wiring diagram on the car, the antenna is tied into the same circuit that powers the amp. Anytime the amp is on, the antenna is up.... Yook a bit of searching to find that antenna wire in the passenger kickpanel... :O)

Thanks again for the comments! Keep those Vette pictures coming!

Ok.. I have a few questions for you.

    1. Soundgate adapter - you said you used a soundgate adapter.

I am assuming this one, the Part # GMCRV1.
It says that the new audio source has to be amplified. This would be speaker level inputs from an aftermarket radio, etc. Did you use a line converter to convert the speaker level inputs to the RCA's? I want to run ONLY the PC.. from what I can tell you are doing the same thing.

    2. WinFast TV USB FM - where did you purchase yours from.. they are pretty pricey to get ONLY the FM use from them. Just wondering where you got yours from and if you (or anyone else reading) has used it with radiator and can tell me if it is compatible or not.

    3. Is there a tutorial anywhere for dummies on programming the computer to control the external relays. Just looking at your code is not enough for me. I have looked around and did not see one (flame on if it is somewhere and I just cannot see it.) I appreciate the links to the relays, etc. If I have one example of it, I can probably figure it out. The wiring, etc. is not a problem.

FYI, my car is a 2002 ZO6.. with the blower of course...

    TIA for the assistance

Hey! I'm REALLY sorry it took so much time to respond... Been travelling in the job and have not been on the message board...

Yes. I used the Soundgate, but then used a 4 channel amplifier to power the original BOSE speakers.... I'm using a USB sound "card" up front, so my speaker outputs come directly off of the USB card to the amp... Then on to the speakers.

I got the Winfast at geeks.com.... It was under $100 and it works well for me and my software.... Like you said, the TV seems pretty useless...

If you go to controlanything.com, they have a collection of examples and controls to show how to control the relays...

NICE CAR!! Sorry again for the delayed response...
