Just made the mount from cardboard and when it was right made it from light steel strap. It uses the original stereo mount holes.
HVAC needed the bottom of the trim cut to fit there, all the wires reached with no problems.
very nice car. i'm partial though since i have the evo vii front end conversion![]()
is the plastic piece that surrounds the lcd stock?
if so, i wonder if it'll fit in place of the plastic piece on my evo8 since the outline is identical... my piece only has one din for the radio and the hvac controls are integrated into it. i've included pictures... does it look like the clips are in the same spot?
the one he has will fit in our cars. read this :

blacklancer: thanks, actually i remember reading that post a while ago... guess i asked him back in september if he was successful in moving the hvac controls, too, but he didn't answer. thanks for the offer of the hvac piece, i'll let you know if i want to give it a go. still weighing my options... thinking about the mtsvo-sc but people seem to be having problems with it.
You will need to tilt the screen like I have. I did have it mounted flush to the trim but it reflected way to much, so I made up the spacer.
thanks. it looks like it's just about vertical, is that right?
