I just saw bugbyte's old car from the 80's too... it had a atari 800 & was hooked up to the speedo to average trip data & a bunch of other stuff.....

that hearse was awsome & an insperation at the time, as well as a lot of other sick customs. I've loved custom cars since I was a kid.... I loved to see customs & customized everything I could... started with bikes, grew to minibikes then cars & bikes....

I was always facinated with guys like ed roth, george barris... there were many cool old customs that were built just like you or I could build...... now adays with guys like jessie james, boyd coddington etc.. the game has changed.... youv'e got mega budget, cnc machines & big money to play in the big leagues

but chip foose and jesse james (i exclude boyd coddington, hes a joke) do most of their work by hand, save for wheels which you cand do any way else really.

ive never even seen the guy pick up a tool.... its always been his goons that do everything.

plus, the stuff he builds looks like crap.

boyds best work is from long ago..... most of these guys started out doing everything themselves, but when you "take off" & demand is so high because you are now famous... it is impossible to do it all yourself.... these guys all basically design & direct,& after a while hire someone to do that too.... sure there may be some hands on... but if all jesse james could sell was what he himself built then he wouldn't sell much... & when youv'e got a waiting list hundreds long.... that's when cnc machines & "goons" come into play.....(especially when you just married that "speed" chick
