What does it look like now? I think you're on the right track.
I just bought that phone, can you point me in the right direction on what I need to do to intergrate it in with my truck puter?
again your install amazes me!

Hi, nice install. I'm going through the process of building a car pc right now as well. I'm curious how your dash area looked like before the install. Do you have a before picture? I'm faced right now with a compromise of whether or not I should have a head unit installed. The problem is, my '03 Corolla only has space for a 7" screen, and a head unit would require fabrication, and I don't really know any plastic manufacturer who could make me a few.
One more question, how do you control your volume? Thanks.

Alti very nice setup, i have wanted to put a carputer in my last car (jeep grand cherokee) however about an year ago i bought a 2003 nissan altima and i'm in the process of putting a carputer in my altima. Could you advice me on anything that i should look out for. my setup is a bit diffrent iam using a laptop as my carture which i got from my brother since he got a new laptop anyways hopefuly it works fine. you put your dvd driver in the small compartment, how hard was it to cut it and did you came across anything such as wires or something else?
Really nothing out of the ordinary as far as wiring up the car. I had to search for a place to go through the firewall and eventually gave up and paid to have the battery cable run as I have a stick and with the slave cylinder and all of the other clutter on the firewall I was too nervous to drill through.Originally Posted by cabj21
The DVD was pretty easy to install I just removed the door from the compartment and cut out the sides and slide it in. The 02-04 altima dash has SO MUCH room to play with. I have decided to keep the car for as long as possible as i can never fathom being restricted to a 7 or 8 inch screen and most vehicles dashboards do not offer the real estate to do much else. Its funny that this hobby has taken over first priority in deciding what car i drive![]()

Amazing job Alti....I'm getting ready to tackle a similar install in my 1970 chevelle. It's not going to be easy with minimal dash landscape.
Do you have any pictures taken during the dash fabrication? I'm looking for some pointers as i start the fab on this neverending project.
