Or do you think the glove box would be large enough? What's your bulid up and purpose for your system (Media, GPS, OBD-I...)?

Sub is in the storgae compartment under the rear seats on one side. I had to make it out of fibreglass to fit. PSU and HDD + fuse block is in the storage compartment on the other side. PC is in one of the storage areas in the side of the extra cab and the amps will be behind a custom rear seat cushion under the rear window. Haven't looked at putting the mobo in the glove box. I wanted to keep that for storage.
In a truck that small, vibrations are always going to be a problem, but I don't think you will have a problem.
purpose for the build. Well that is a long story. started off as just an mp3 player and got out of control. So just about everything.

I too have a 4runner its a 94, same dash. I had to take the touch screen off to see the thing in the daylight. I mounted the same place, where the stock stereo is in the double din. I cut the case of the lilliput to fit and made a wood bracket to screw it too. Then moved my pioneer head unit down lower between the two brackets running up the center of the dash. I think if you get your windows tinted the glare would be cut down alot, but not much you can do about the front windshield. If you can get it recessed in that same spot it would help more as well.

sorry mate. have been busy with work and family stuff. I was not trying to ignore you.

I have since sold the car, but I have pictures from the trial fit. I also have a radio surround to fit a 7" lilliput that I would like to get rid of if you are interested.

for some reason, the pics didn't upload properly. I have some finished pics, but mainly of the side panels. I had it all in there and didn't take any pics before I pulled it out. The amps were only mounted on a board in the back and was never finished.

Have another look at the link and there should be some more pics now. The folder of last progress pics should be what you want to see.
