To get the hvac controls where I wanted I had to extend the manual cables. I used reinforced bike brake outer shield (with the inner wires running lengthwise) and wire from an old positron bike gear which was very similar to hard single stranded wire I've seen at hardware stores. I used ring terminal at the ends.
The parts I used for this were from a mom & pop bicycle shop. The guy had the positron cable lying around, he was a packrat. The outer shield is just high quality stuff you can find anywhere.

For the inner cable you just need to find something thick and single stranded, or at least very stiff if you can't find single stranded stuff. And of course, the inner cable has to fit into the out cable and slide easily.

Bike repair shops will probably be your best bet.

It's not like there are specific step-by-step instructions on how to do custom work in a vehicle. If you're serious then read the forum and start learning.

I do say that all the fab work he did do is awesome. Im curious to know what that stuff is that he put over the cardboard to make it hard for the A/C controls.
