    67 Camaro

my carputer is a long way off, my 1967 Camaro is still in the body shop and I will need to assemble when I get it back. I posted a thread on here but still waiting for the moderator to approve. Here is the limk to the picture of how the car sits today... look for my other post for specifics.

    ohhh my
    very yummy

My brother plays with 65-66 Mustangs. Ended up doing a disc break conversion since he rebuilt his engine up to a 351. ahem ... kids

Just wondering why you didn't drop the rest of the parts.
You are so close to doing a "full" restore/update.
If you got the cash, a full media blast and powder coating would put you in the Chip Foose category

Lot's of net/forum buddies who have the cash have done similar restores on their 911's.
I'm hoping to the same on my garage queen too but ... $$$ is problem.

    You gonna do sunkist orange?

Being that I am here in Hawaii, there are not many places that do media blasting and powder coating. Of the places that can do it, there work is not very good. I guess it comes down to the fact that I can't drive to another state to get things done, so a lot of businesses take the "where else you gonna go" attitude.
My car will be a driver, not a show car so candy like powder coat and 1000# of billet are out.
The car's chassis has been painted with POR 15 chassis black, just cant tell because of all the body dust.

I posted my cars information on the wrong forum, so I think its not getting approved.

I have 90% of everything to put the car together.

    1967 Camaro RS
engine: 468 BBC - should be close to 700HP (built 4 years ago, I'm going to cry when I hear it)
Transmission: Tremec TKO 600 .82 overdrive (no long freeways here and speed limit is 55, so 80 mph cruising speed with the .64 is out)
    Brakes: 4 wheel power disc
suspension: QA1 couilover up front, QA1 double adjustable out back with mono leafs and Caltracs (for now)

    Carputer/stereo
    Mac Mini 2010
10.2" touch screen (not sure which yet)
    sub: JL 12W7
    Separates: Diamond Audio S600 x 4
    Amps: Phoenix Gold 1000W class D, 800W 4 ch
Cap: Phoenix Gold 15 farad (I know its excessive but the price was crazy cheap)
EQ: Phoenix Gold 2/3 octave 12 band

There are way to many Black, Red, Yellow, Blue and Hugger Orange 1st gen Camaro's out there, so the color I chose is 2002 Plymouth Prowler Orange Pearl.

This car was in another body shop for 4 years, the guy finally skipped town along with $8,000 of my money and money from 12 other cars. Hind sight is a *****! So now it's in this other shop, and costing me an additional $6,000. MY GOD! Lot's of people say I should go look for the guy that screwed me over, but my answer is always the same... $8,000 aint worth going to prison for!

I had a really long reply to you, but I'm not sure where it went. So here it goes again...

My car was in another shop for 4 years (hindsight is a Mother******), got nickle and dimed. The guy finally bailed and left like 12 cars sitting. So long story short, I'm out $8000, 4 years and finaly the car is in another shop. The chassis has been POR 15 Chassis Blacked, but its covered in body work dust now. I plan on this being a driver, not a show car, so candy like powder and 1000#'s of billet are out. Here is what is going in the car, I have 90% of it.

    1967 Camaro RS
    engine: 468 BBC @ 700HP (built 4 years ago, still 0 miles)
Transmission: Tremec TKO 600 (will be here tomorrow)
rear end: 12 bolt GM with superbrute posi and 4.10:1 gears
    brakes: 4 wheel power disc
suspension: QA1 coilovers up front, Leafs and QA1's in rear (for now)
Paint: will be 2002 Plymouth Prowler Orange Pearl (too many black, silver, yellow, red, hugger orange first gens out there)

    Carputer / Stereo
Mac Mini (2010) with 4Gb Ram and 500 GB hdd (I'm also a photographer so want Photoshop on the go)
touchscreen (not sure witch yet, minimum 10.2" hope to fit a 15")
amps: Phoenix Gold 1000W class D and 800W 4 Ch
Cap: Phoenix Gold 15 Farad (overkill but great price)
    Separates: Diamod Audio S600 x 4

oops, late to pick up the GF...

POR 15, the fix all for rust prevention and such

One of the cars I was thinking of when I mentioned is a DD, now scares the locales on the Autobahn. But yeah, $8k is a bit to swallow. My father has had2 of those situations with his restore.

    lolo, what color
Also wondering, was watching too much Chip Foose any influence?

All the rust has been replaced with new panels, no rust on frame. The POR 15 chassis black is there to prevent anything in the future... I have also lizard skinned the inside with their sound barrier and ceramic insulation.
Chip foose makes some nice cars, but not my style... I'm not into two tone paint, or 20" rims on a 67 Camaro (which all of his cars seem to have). I have 15 x 10's in the rear and 15 x 3's in the front, old school...

Yeah... 2002 Prowler Orange pearl see link below, added it to my other pics.

Well, sikryd, if you have the bucks to finish it that will be one heck of a stoplight screamer!
Electronics work on magic smoke - don't let it out.

Yeah, it's been quite expensive. I pray that this project comes to an end soon, I need to start saving money and stop spending it. I can say one thing... I'm good for the American economy! I think we all are... Hahahaha
