Stop by a porsche forum (pelican) they have oodles of stories of how their ended costing more than buying one that was mint.

However, I doubt if most of them would trade the experience and fun for just buying it direct.

Cost wise, yeah I can bet that you are double, even quaduple thinking this but once it's finished and your son (future son) learns to drive it, you'll be all the more glad that you did. Besides, the value on these cars seem to only go up.

Interesting color bit on the red ... sporty I think I'm going to like it

I agree, I'd rather build my own than own someone else's hot rod. The only thing I would wish different in the whole experience is getting ripped off by the first body shop. You are right about the value, people today are paying 8k - 10K for cars that 10 years ago you would have walked away from at any price. The picture of the paint lid is taken with my iPhone, so I think the picture looks a bit more red than it actually is. I'll be sure to post some pictures as soon as it's painted.

WOOT! my 67 Camaro is finally completely in primer. It's been 6 years since I have seen it in one color, no more visible body filler and bare metal. I didn't have my camera with me, byproduct of owning expensive full sized DSLR's. I really need to get me a good point and shoot... Pictures are from my iphone, so don't expect much. Firewall still needs to be finished, but other than that the lines on the car look awesome.

My opinion is that the 67 and 68 Camaro is the sexiest car ever produced. Give me the choice of a hot 67 Camaro or a hot girl, I'm going home with the Camaro! Hahahaha...

After 6 long years, I finally have paint on some parts for the 67 Camaro... I'm so excited to see the car completely in paint, hopefully by the end of September I should have the car back.

I would like to replace the whole dash with a screen (or two) in my '64 Nova. I've been working on other things, but now that the car is close to operational...
The car is mostly complete. Wanted to hide all the stereo system so I've got a SecretAudio SST head unit, Kappa Amp, Kappa 6x9, Kappa 4", bluetooth streaming audio.

    My 65 F100

    Not exactly a classic "car."

I need to get some pictures of the actual pc posted. Its a Zotac mini-itx board in a MCS case with a core 2 duo running windows 7 and RR. It hides in my center console/middle seat.

More pictures of the truck here

I'll be doing a car pc in my 58 Plymouth also, but its got a log way to go first. So I'm sure car pc's will be smaller, faster, and more efficient when I get around to the Plymouth. The Plymouth will also be a much more stealthy install.
