Hi All, After first experiencing my lilliput touchscreen dying, then having my carputer (IBM Thinkpad X20) broken I am back in the game

!

The New Carputer:
Toshiba 1730 (I think!)
700Mhz
10GB
CD-ROM
128MB RAM
USB Sound Card (The Purple thing in the pics)
FM Transmitter
Home Made Startup Controller
Home Made 12v Regulator and noise filters
Targus 70 Watt DC-DC Adaptor
Xenarc 700TSV
Lilliput 7"

Here are the pics, I decided to install it today as it was nice and sunny!

The Thing in yellow tape is my filter circuit to filter noise created by the targus adaptor.

That black Box is the inverter hidden away, whilst that other black box with "Targus" written on it is my power supply.

Even More Pics!
Yellow Thing is my 12V Regulator for the Xenarc and the Lilliput.
Also you can see a switch, this is cutoff switch which will turn everything related to the carputer off, for whatever reason I need to, with a cigarette lighter adaptor for the phone charger.
And a USB hub is hidden in there somewhere...
In the pic with the 2 remotes, I just realised there's a Melways in there. Won't be needing that anymore thanks to Map Monkey!
[edit] All that circuitry and USB Hub is located behind the Xenarc

The First pic is of my BU-353 GPS Reciever on the dashboard. I get 7-8 sats locked on at this location.
The others are of the 2 LCD Monitors.
Black cable that seems to be comming out the right hand side of the Xenarc is for the mobile phone charger.

Thanks to everyone on this board, I have been able to get a working system up and running! Now I can't wait to have a Melbourne meet!
I have managed to make this install completely reversible, no holes drilled or anything like that!

Interesting install. How are you getting the video from your laptop? Is that just a VGA connection, TV out, or something else?

Is the lilliput a touchscreen?

Post#9 picture shows you running a fridge off your startup controller, where is that mounted? I couldn't find a fridge in the pics.

How is the sound with your FM transmitter? Any engine whine with the inverter and whatnot?
