looks lovely! nice screen fabrication!!!
This project has been complete for a while, but I just got around to posting the pics. A big "Thanks" to all of you on this forum, there is no way I could have done it without you.
The car is a 2004 Acura TSX without the Nav option. Part of my goal was to install this in a non-destructive way, and I pretty much suceeded with that. I had to drill a few holes in the trunk liner, but otherwise I could remove everything and put the stock parts back. Pics are posted below, but if you are interested in more detail I have more pics with descriptions Here: http://www.vanderwoude.net/gallery/TSX

worklog
I've had 2 TSX loaner cars and each time I looked at that space with the storage bin I thought it would be perfect for a screen. Very nicely done.

-8" Lilliput TS, laptop, (too) large inverter, and I'm nowhere near putting them anywhere.
For Sale!
my sis has a 05 tsx.. im thinking of installing a sub in her car, how did u connect the sub to the stock audio?
Did you use the cables from the cat5 as relays for your on/off reset etc?
Continued Worklog... Upgrades in progress:
*15.4" WXGA LED backlight touchscreen upgrade
*Custom fiberglass dash bezel
That;s looking really good! Any pic of the stock dash?
Check out the diagram with the rest of the pics (linked above). Basically, I took out the stock rear deck 6x9's (used as subs in this car) and ran the speaker out to the speaker level input for channels 3&4 on the amp.Originally Posted by Kiriller
Yeah, that was the plan. I ran a cat5 from the front to the back just to have it there if I needed it. When I decided to add buttons to the dash/screen piece, I thought: use a piece of cat5 and a jack so they can "quick connect". I never hooked them up. The right button was swapped out for a switch hardwired to the acc line on the opus. Switch off->opus off after a delay. I use it like a Valet switch anytime I don't want the computer starting up.Originally Posted by BiGGY
Yes, follow the link in the first post. There are a bunch of pics, including one of the dash pre-install.Originally Posted by Cris
