The second pic in your post makes me want to throwup. Nice startup/shutdown controller but DAMN the back of that PCB looks like a fire waiting to happen LOL
my god man, you are awesome
come over to my house and help with my bezel. i got beer and pizza.
HAHA....I was going for a spiderweb look. This is why I'm working on a PCB with Eagle for this thing. BTW, this thing has been working flawlessly for the last several days.
Here is a picture of my new dash. As you can see, I don't have the mp3 input installed in the lower right hand corner. It's hanging off the right side. But it is nice for the MP3 player. Check out the 110V plugin on the right side I've installed, which is attached to the inverter. It definately comes in handy

Tercel....I actually just ordered a new Mobo and chip from Newegg. I got a AMD Athlon 64 bit 3400+. It came with a Gigabyte mobo for free for $99. I installed a 512 Mb DDR 400 Crucial stick and a 200 watt micro ATX power supply. I am also doubling my storage to 160 GB (the daughter needs more movies) HAHA......I am installing it into the left side of my trunk as we speak. It should work out. I should think that a VIA mobo should not start up much slower. Seconds maybe.
where did you find that 110V plugin and how is it held in place? i've been looking everwhere for a 1 foot extension cable with panel mount receptacle, is that what that is?

*everything is working great, just need to button up some wires and paint the sub box.
It came out of an old inverter. I just had to modify the factory clips a little. Then I soldered a regular extension wire to it.
