Why not just buy the NAV Dashboard and put a touchscreen behind it?

Thank you for the suggestion. I've thought about getting a nav bezel as an easier route. But, I do like the factory HU. Besides, what fun would that be? I will be starting on fabricatioin this week. The computer is installed and running beautifully. And the car isn't clean anymore after being torn apart.
I cut into my bezel last night, here it is. What a crazy radio I swear there were 50 screws in that thing. I think this is going to work!!!
thats good news man keep it up i cant wait to see :nutz:
ahhh, he cut into a brand new dash. :nutz:
cant wait to see the progress.
Here is the method I have resorted to to making a shell to fab over. I took a big block of high density styrofoam and started cutting and sanding (very messy). I will form everything the way I want it but just a little smaller than the finish product. The thing I need to figure out now is how to fasten the resin shell to the plastics. Maybe some duramix 4040. Any fab suggestions here?
I see that the top of the foam bends back to match the curve of the dash. I don't think you'll be able to bend the lcd like that with out breaking it. :p
unless you plan on recessing the screen back.
he'll prolly end up recessing the lcd from the front a bit, which will straighten out the bend..Quote:
