sweet fab, nice work on the bezel. The radar detector is hilarious
After 50+ hours its finnally done
The car: My 2002 Mazda Protege5
Specs:
AMD k6/2 450mhz processor overclocked to 550mhz on an unknown micro atx mobo.
392Mb pc100
40gig Hard drive
m-1 atx 90 watt automotive powersupply + startup/shutdown controller.
T-view 700-ts 7'' touchscreen monitor
The screen setup
Showing the radar detector hardwire. Its a bit ghetto, but I couldnt bring myself to drill the dash.
The computer in the glovebox. Sort of a tight fit
The bezel under construction. Basically I made an aluminum plate and smoothed it with bondo spot putty. Turned out pretty good I think.
Right now its only being used for mp3s + some divx movies- but a GPS, OBDII reader, and dvd player will go in eventually.
More pics to come of it in action + the audio stuff.

I like the dash
But what do you do if you accidentally drop that radar power lead inside the vents...??![]()
oh man, i didnt even think of that. that would suckOriginally Posted by Spaghetti
Very nice install on the monitor -- Maybe work on the glove box move that to under to the seat in a box or something?
For the radar detector, I mounted mine above my mirror and connected the power leads on it to a overhead map light I have there... Cleans up the area a good deal![]()

It actually wont fit through the vents. Only the other end goes through. But what do you do if you accidentally drop that radar power lead inside the vents...??
Ive had several people suggest the mirror idea, but from my reading, it seems better to have the detector lower than that so it will pick up lazer when they aim it at the hood area.
I've never had a problem detecting the laser. Very rare in my area.
