Thread: 97' Altima Carputer

Ok I've been living on these forums for a while now and I'm almost ready t start my own carPC. I am working on a 97 Altima thats pretty beaten up and i'll probably trash it in a few years, making it the perfect gunei pig for my first carPC. Ill get some pics of the car as soon as I wash the hell out of it.

This is what i have so far:

150watt OPUS dc-dc converter
Athlon xp-M 2400+ takes about 45 watts
Duleo GM-307 GPS reciever
801.2 B Linksys wifi reciever
4 guage wiring kit for OPUS and amp
15'' VGA cable

I also have an 8'' innovotek tm-868, but after readng the forums i decided to switch it since it has only 640x480 res for a lilliput or at least a 800x600 model. This so far is the last major component I need to order, which i'll do as soon as I sell the screen. Im lookin for about 150 + shipping if anyone's interested. Will post it in the classified section as soon as i get pix.


<u>What i still need</u>
1.a decent 4/5 channel amp. I dont want anything fancy and am looking to spend around $80, if anyone can hook me up.

2. a micro-ATX mobo, which hopefully im ordering tonight. probably an Asus A7S8X-MX for 50 shipped.


i plan to make the case from plywood and acrylic and keep it in the trunk floor. Will start that as soon as I get the mobo.
