......After that i think that what started all this noise is much more due to the word "real" suggesting that other's work is not real.
ok... well let me clarify then....

you'll notice in my posts previous, that I said some of you guys did a damn good job keeping it OEM looking.....

my "real" install, was more of the radio/lighting equipment, than it was of an "OEM looking carputer".....

of course, this is a "carputer" site, so, I didnt state myself as clearly as I could have.....

I dont know what would constitute a "carputer" MORE, than a product, used in hundreds of thousands of cars, that is used on a daily basis,in a pretty rough environment, for tracking suspect information, running registration/want/warrant information, writing reports,etc.....

I just expanded mine, to include voice based GPS NAV,phone support, internet,etc.....

for a rice burner... excuse me, I mean.. for an import car, the OEM look is "the way to go"....

but for a full sized RWD sedan, a "police car" to boot, having a 6" touchscreen in the dash just AINT gonna work.....however, a 12.1" will...

a 12" touchscreen would probably look totally out of place in an accord, or a scion......hell..even in a tahoe it might look kinda funny... but in a vic...it fits right in.....

touch screen keyboards work well when surfing, and screwing around, but "real" work cant be done fast enough on a touch screen keyboard....

it'd take 4x as long to compose this post on an on screen keyboard than it would be on a real keyboard......

a "throw it under the seat" keyboard would not work either..... for OBVIOUS reasons........

everyone has their "needs" for their "carputer".....

mine has to actually be used for something OTHER than listening to music or watching DVD's.....

Have you seen his vehicle? How can you say that he took these pictures from the Internet? Do you think that somebody that produced soooo many pictures of a vehicle could have taken *all* of them from some poor bloke's website? As a fellow forum member with him on other forums, I can say without a shadow of doubt that this is his vehicle.

I can say what jparks27 has said (i.e. the 6-point list) and it would also apply to me and my vehicle. Do you think that the picture of the car in my signature is also someone elses?

What if someone went around and found any / all the pictures of your installation and ride and said "Oh, look, this guy's a fake, this is somebody else's car"? How would you feel?

For some odd reason, the image of "Ponch" from Chips is coming to mind here, complete with huge-lense glasses.
