Step 1: Buy an '06 TL w/ out nav----->DONE
Step 2: Convince wife I'm not crazy by showing her theKlassic's great looking install, saying, "Don't worry, honey, it'll go right back to factory! ----->DONE
Step 3: Shamelessly copy ITL, Moah's and theKlassic's hard work in my own car, learn from their trials and tribulations so as to minimize my own.
Seriously, I'm so happy you guys have done this, I'm giddy. Much respect. I must force myself to have patience, become one with the force, and complete my own install successfully.
How do you hook up the computer to the 12V battery? did you poke a hole somewhere near the firewall?

Crazy work dude. I'm planning to do the same car pc, AS CLEAN as yours. I just wanted to know if you would have some details about the wireing between the OEM CD changer and the PC, so that I could use the OEM CD/DVD player for the pc.

You've inspired me. I have an 04 TL w/ no navigation and am making plans to install an after market navigation flush into the car as you have. I already have the aftermarket navigation and install kit ready on hand, but I have a few questions and hope you can assist: How and what did you use to bolt the fan/radio screen down to the lower compartment after extending the wires? What was used to bolt the plexi glass on or was it the orginal plexi that was just carved off to fit?
Your advise will greatly appreciated.

Hey im interested in doing the same mod..with the exception of buying the 07 hvac display in the vent instead of moving the display.. I was wanting to know if you attempted this process or would know if this will be plug and play? LMK
Most likely this will not be plug and play. The HVAC display will have different wiring/controller board. I could be wrong on this but I do know that the 05 Nav Hvac display is completely different from the Non-Nav.Quote:
