    Wiring and such.

I was wondering that myself but I didn't want to ask until I actually attempted the install. I noticed someone had their head unit installed underneath their xenarc and never mentioned how they wired everything up...

I am assuming it is common knowledge that you use long VGA cords for video, long USB cords and extensions to reach front to back. say 10ft or so.

Assuming that your computer (the actual box that contains the hd, cpu, memory, etc) is all in one case then you will need the following:

USB extension cables for your USB peripherals,
VGA extension cable for the screen
14 ga. wires (red, yellow, black) for power connections to the PC
You will also need to fabricate some power wires for the monitor if you plan to run that from the PC power supply.
Audio cables with mini-jack to RCA type connectors
Heavier ga. power wires if you want to install an amp, etc....

    Question Power supply question.

Nameeri: One more question, if I do decide to run power wires from the pc power supply (M2-ATX) will the wires just be sticking out of the back of the pc or is there some sort of port attached to the back, connected to the pc. In other words when you look at the back will there be wires sticking out (red & black) through a hole in the pc? The VGA will obviously be connected to a VGA port on the back, usb to usb port and ps2 to ps2 port but what about power??? Again, once I begin the install I'm sure things will look much clearer but in planning this all out I want to have every detail understood. thanks alot.

You will need to make those connections easily detachable. So yeah, you will have wires coming out the back of the pc case. If you use Molex connectors, you can make the connections nice and clean. Here is a pic of what I mean. This is the way that I did it on my carputer.

you can get molex connectors from Frys, or any other electronics parts shop. They are fairly cheap.

Look up a stock 01-05 bezel on ebay. The dash is molded around the deck (which is a pop out). The dash is also molded around the DSP below it (which is alo painted the same color.)

You can sort of see it here, but another pic taken with more light at a better angle probably would have helped. I see what you are saying by 'molded' though. It looks nice, but that glossy black completely undoes the stock look and feel

Well this is my first post on here. I currently have an 05 civic and looking to put a pc in my car. Ive learned alot from this thread itself. My question, and its probably a stupid one, to run GPS, all you need is the software and the antenna? As well as the satellite radio? Or is there more to it?

Im going to order my screen and bezel probably this week and go from there. Im from socal and I may need some help if someone is willing to answer my stupid questions. haha.

The setups you guys are running are looking cleean!!!
