Nice job!
I'm assuming you tried other angles with the screen to reduce the glare...is that the best angle you found? I've been curious about doing that as well, but I really want it centered too. lol oh the dilemma!
Knew there had to be a reason behind it all, again great setup, any pics of the computer?. Time to get creative with lettering![]()

Well the puter is just a shuttle pc tucked in the corner of my trunk, but I ripped it out today because of one crucial necessity...
THE GHATD*AM 5V STDBY ON MY OPUS...
I have had a secret problem with my setup since its birth... If I didn't drive it for a few days, I would have to jumpstart the car. This problem got worse and worse (from 3 days to 2 days, now I have to drive it every day or it will run dead).
I drove it to the Florida meet in WPB (props to john1701)... Screen would power up, then say "POWER OFF"
After talking to a few and meeting John in person, he said he had the same problem... seems that there is a 5 volt standby that allows you to charge perifs thru USB when the damn car is off. This is shiddyshiddy since it will drain your batt, and the more you have to jump it, the weaker your batt gets, thus eventually... not enough to power to even really boot.
I contacted OPUS, they replied like they get the prob 43894893 times a day... before lunch. Said just what John told me... send in the PS with 20 bucks, and they will mod the 5v stndby off.
Then replace the battery (thats not gunna too be cheap either... why did i get a beemer again?)
Then everything should be golden. I'm a bid inhebreated (can ya tell?) So I'll end this post short... wait... too late...
If you know anyone thats using the 150w OPUS modular for Shuttle PC's- please let them know they need to send it back to OPUS before they encounter the innevitable. Thanx

that problem is well noted in this forum and can be solved with a couple of relays on the 5v and 5vstb leads of the ATX wires
why would having a beemer mean getting a new battery is expensive?
it shouldn't be ANY differet than getting a new batter for any other car.
just get an optima red top / yellow top and you will be fine. It will last 2-3x longer than a regular battery and will suit your needs better.
