I would like to know which paint can match the stock bezel texture as well, I am thinking to use the NAV bexel and add a two line matrix lcd display (VFD) to fill in the open area where the stock NAV buttons locate. Then get OBDII data to disply on that part. The problem for the NAV bezel is its 6.5" screen opening size instead of 7"...

If we want to go for the "make our own bezel" route, I think the paint/texture is the critical part.
Or we can wait for something like WRX bolt on screen bezel.(Darkfox's project?)

When I did mine I bought a replacement OEM cubby bezel which inclided the vents for I think $150CDN from the dealer and cut that one up. I still have the factory one in the closet if I want to return to stock.

No, I do not believe that Darkfox did the WRX bolt-in kit. He is working on a bezel for the LGT tho and will have some USB ports under the screen where the OEM navi buttons would go.

Well, there is definately room there to set it into the dash deeper, would just be a matter of some different custom fab work. The only problem (for me at least as I have my seat most of the way back) would be how far I would have to reach to touch the screen. (The BMW iDrive isn't touch screen AFAIK) I do not want a hood sticking out of the dash either to shield it.

I still doubt that setting it back even a couple of inches will help much because almost the entire screen reflects the sunroof.

I think the best solution would be the transreflective screen... too pricey tho, I just close my sunroof cover

how bout the heat?is the processor generating too much heat?can the fan effectively cool down the processor?
how bout installing TurboCPU, where u can use the software to step down the CPU clock speed, thus producing less heat. (juz a newbie opinion)

and bout the inverter......can it survive cranking? Is your inverter draining too much power from your battery?
