lol, it doesn't take a Hyundai to go 60 mph. Yes, I drive fast in my little car. Yes, I've driven 60 mph on an exit ramp. Just keep in mind, because we drive cars with crappy handling, small engines that sound like they're going fast.....doesn't mean we actually drive fast cars.

Ive never driven a car that handles like the tiburon.. never.

The newer ones GTV6, are heavier but still have that same "arse one inch off the ground go kart !" feel to them.

The stock seats were utterly GHASTLY. made from what seems to be heavy grade sack cloth and shaped like a bucket, only you soon realise they dont hold you in too well and it's only a good grip on the steering wheel that keeps you from going into the passenger seat

The seatbelts in this year of Tib are also well known for not working, after 2 recalls they still refused to respool and work properly.

In a small car with alot of SUV's on the road the harnesses are a great safety measure, especially because the tiburon has great brakes and with alot of crap drivers in southern new jersey you tend to use them alot (good thing the horn works well too )

The trans is auto, yeah it's not the best and sometimes it feels like it's going to blow up but it's not that bad in power mode.

I also have the ability to disable the air bags too, and whilst 0-30 in this car takes a while once it gets over 35 it drops the trans and does go pretty quick.

The engine mods have given it enough grunt for me.. I dont want a rocket ship but the ability to get to speed before going on the NJ turnpike has probably saved my life on a few occasions.

It's not exactly what I would class as slow, and with the dynamics and handling it's a great bloody car to drive, bags of fun

As for the styling I have chosen? well it's a bastard love child of both American, European and British styling, it's going to be different, if you ever met me you'd know.. Im different

At least it doesnt have a bird table for a spoiler with a baked bean can/macdonalds straw hybrid muffler.. Ive left some of it standard and have concentrated on what matters, keeping it in good condition and running well.

I'm not normally one to race, but I do like to drive energetically.. I have defeated quite a few cars that I would have thought I have no chance on simply by letting them get past and then giving them the 'up ya bum' treatment.. on corners I have driven few cars (And none in this price bracket) that handle like the tiburon does.

The engine is reliable (it's the same one they have had around for about 9 years now) and the car is cheap as chips to repair ($19 for a complete set of brake pads).

With gas prices heading the way they are Im bloody grateful to have it, it's saving me a fortune in getting to and from work.

As for what people think? well if I cared about that Id be in trouble wouldnt I?

The fast and the furious this aint, it's just me and my little motor and a couple of mods to make it mine.

He was talking about the 'altezza' brake lights, 5 point racing harness, and stickers I believe. In the US, we call this sort of car a 'ricer' or 'riced out'. Here's an example for you:

Understanding is everything I suppose.

The tail lights (as mentioned above) were shot.. it needed new ones.. seen the price of hyundai ones?

Hyundai wanted $500 to change a timing belt that costs $32... hmm.

Most of what has been done has been done through repair, the tail lights were $70 overnighted to me and they at least take away that stock look.. so some wont like them? I dont expect them too

Even the cold air intake was fitted through necessity, the original air box was broken in 2 places and the clips for the filter were all missing.

The intake with the filter was $35 shipped, I got a quote for a new air box from hyundai and they wanted over $200.

60 off an exit ramp!!!

I woke up at 100mph exiting the exit ramp onto the roundabout at 3am one morning! dunno how i drifted off going up an exit ramp! I had to go round the roundabout twice before i could orientate myself to come off the the right exit and i had been living 150 yards down the road for 10 years!

Good job it was a straight line from the ramp onto the roundabout I tell you!

Sounds like you really enjoy your car man - just wanted to say that I was kidding with you earlier, and wish you luck with your install.

Only the suspension was designed by Porsche, not the chassis AFAIK. The stock handling is one of the better qualities, and is further improved with aftermarket springs.

And from one Tiburon owner to another, it's riced. You can justify those seats once you do a manual tranny swap, turbo it and put down 250whp, and are autoxing on the weekends, no sooner. Don't deny it, just accept your relatively moderate level of riciness and move on.

A 7" screen can easily be molded into the radio fascia. My pc is under the driver's seat.

your all making it out for 60mph to be fast or something, we all hit an exit ramp here at 70+mph as the norm, the fast I was doing once was just over 130mph and thats a

The suspension is mcpherson, the chassis is a porsche monocoque design hence the handling. it is completely and totally ridgid and the heaviest car in it's class, even beating out the sunfire.

The way I drive the seats are needed, trust me.

The stock seats have to be *the* worst seats I have ever sat it, end of.

BTW what I didnt mention was that the seats I got new with the harnesses for $100.. the same kid offered them to me a few weeks prior for $250 and I turned them down.

Anyway, I aint gonna sit and argue with people over what they think about my car.. I have already made my point clear, people are entitled to their opinion.

As for 'ricer' tbh I dont give a ****, it's not such a bad thing seeing as japanese cars are now *the* most reliable in the world, not that I give a **** what anyone says about my car either.

Chances are IRL they wouldnt dare say such a thing, only mouthing off and being a twat over the keyboard can truly bring them off.
