Hello all!
Well, I finally got around to putting some pics of my setup in this forum...

In any case, the car is a 1999 Camaro Z28, leather seats, t-tops, etc....

There it is! Let me know what you think....
Check back soon for the updated motherboard and processor... and maybe a few more pics![]()
how does the external anntena connect to the computer???
Aut cum scuto, aut in scuto
Damn Xp with its anoyingly fast boot times, good thing you were able to get it over the 30 second. The PC: nLite XP install, >30secs to boot (Very proud of that!)
But seriously nice looking install and car.
I actually took an old atx case, and cut a section to match the motherboard size... It worked out really well! I didn't have to worry about standoffs, or PCI card support...I really like your screen. Nice job! BTW what is your motherboard sitting on?
Nothin' too special, typical antenna cable... It is a magnet mount antenna, and there is a slight gap right there that is perfect for cable routing... The cable goes in between the rear hatch and the seal, but at a point in which there won't be any issues from rain and such.how does the external anntena connect to the computer???
lol... I caught it... I actually posted this right before running out the door, so I didn't get a chance to proof read it....... good thing you were able to get it over the 30 second. But seriously nice looking install and car.
Thanks!![]()
sorry to bring it up from the grave but awsome install, have any new pix?
I actually just replaced the HD, due to my 60gb crashing...
I'm in the middle of trying to find a better way to mount.
When I do, I'll throw some more pics up...
Addition:
O yea! I still haven't posted pics since I got the Turion!
I'll get some up there in the next 2 days!
Well, I finally found some time to take a few new pics of the system!
First off, my new Turion MT-32 w/Zalman 7000 alcu heatsink & Gigabyte k8n51gmf. This setup is darn fast, uses less power that my xp2200 setup, has firewire, 8 usb ports, and 6 audio ports.(Allowing 5.1 surround, while still having mic, and line in available for use)
Overall I am very happy with the way things have worked out.![]()
A better pic of the Opus150:
I installed a multicard reader. I have the mic, and headphone jack routed to the mic in and line in on the PC... Uses for this are obvious.... (External FM, phone stuff, etc...)
Still in progress of cleaning up the install... but here's a shot..
And, I also got around to finishing my fiberglass pc/amp cover.
Basically, I made a mold (wood, wire, and some old paper envelopes, covered it in fiberglass, sanded the heck out of it, cut some holes, and covered it in black carpet... and viola! (Granted, I went through 2 molds, and 3 attempts at creating the cover... but hey, it's only time, right?
)
The holes were on each side... On the drivers side, I installed a fan to pull in the cooler air...
The hole on the passenger side to to expel the air... works quite well, I might add!

For prior comments... (in other threads as well) Here is the mounting of my GPS receiver, underneath my rear bumper. Works just as well here, as it did on my front dash!
and, my faithful keyboard!
Any Questions/Comments/Suggestions are welcome!!!
What do you guys think??![]()
Hey man, it looks nice. I was going to rip on you about your PC, etc, exposed on the back untli I saw your cover. There's so little room in those camaros, the cover was a great idea! Is there anything more clever you can do with the external FM antenna?
