wow, this is a really great guide. its VERY discriptive and easy to understand. it really helps to all of us who have been contemplating forking out $1000 also. and you make the desicion really easy, im suprised they didnt make it a sticky!
i love the car, i used to have a 93 celica gt, and i tell you i miss it tremendously. the dash and console were so easy to remove, and im starting to get mad at american cars. i went from the celica to a mustang, sure the power is great and all but i still miss my celica :(
thanks for taking the time and extra effort to put this pdf together, it was worth it to the few of us who have read it and appreciate it!
Self-serving bump. Thanks for all the words. :D I have increased the size of the grounding wires based on some other feedback, but otherwise it remains unchanged. As a result of this build I don't recommend the Ampie case but have no plans on changing out the one I have until (if) I do any major upgrades. Another direct link to the PDF:

No changes but recrunched the PDF down to 12mb instead of 24mb. Still working flawlessly since June 2006 with no modifications (including my grounding wires that are too small). Highly recommend iGuidance for nav, combined with Griffin Powermate and the GPS antenna - sweet! :)
did you ever solve the wiring of the anti-thump?
No I haven't, but that's due to the fact that I don't have a stereo head unit. Most head units now have a lead to send a signal to the amp. It's not so much a thump as a pop, and as I know this install is temporary (moving to a SUV with head unit and aux video input) I haven't spent any more time on it. I'll dig more into that when I move to the SUV. Thanks for the interest.
