There are 2 adapters in sequence for that to work:
1-PIE-Maz adapter which plugs into the CD changer plug and has a MBUS plug
2-The Car2PC adapter for MBUS-USB (For CD changers).

It's not the best solution but until something else comes up, I'm pretty happy with it.
@ATX: Nice to hear from you again.

    Guino-

I know you are a busy man with RR and everything else. BTW RR is excellent! I have been digging and digging trying to find ways to control my PC via the stock radio buttons on my Mazda6. What buttons are you actually able to use with the PIE and car2pc interfaces? I assume it's only controls related to a CD changer i.e. you can't use "SAT" or "MEDIA/TAPE". Is this correct?

First off, I am officially in aww, Great install, very clean, and has the "factory" look that I am nazi about.

I have a Mazda3, and have a new mission to make my steering wheel controls work. I already have the PIE adapter, and now I'm looking for the car2pc half. On the website, I see many car specific products, but not the "mbus-usb" one you mentioned, do you have a direct link, or product number, apparently I am blind...

    NM: i found it: http://www.customcarputers.com/produ...17b7763797843e

    great install!

Most buttons work except the "mode" buttons as you listed.. seek, ffw, frw etc.... on the Mazda Panel, the Disk buttons (UP/DOWN) can't really be used for anything..

@timekiller: that is not the one I have, and I have heard of some new updated/new/adapters not working with RR -- I do not know if they have made any changes to their devices... mine plugs onto the round MBUS plug of the PIE adapter, and has a USB plug and the audio plug out of the box... so I'm not sure how that'd work..

I emailed the company about what I need for mazda before I found the link I pasted. They sent me this reply/link:

    Hi Jason,
There is no pure MBus product at this time. There is some manual assembly
    required.
The item you'll need is this:
    http://indashpc.org/new/adapters/car2pc-mbus.html
We will run beta testing for Mazda vehicles in about 3 weeks though.
Linux is supported and you can use standard serial drivers no problem.
    Thank you,
    Dmitry/

so - looks like they will be coming out with a pure mazda adapter!

well, if they do, I'll get a new one (which probably will work better), then I'll make sure it works with RR.

    hey guino,
I have an opinion question for you -

I have a lilliput 7" screen, and like many suffer from screen glare during the day.

The price tag on the transreflective screen is steep - would you say it was worth it ? - Is the glare reduction ok,good, great, or a must have ?

    thanks.

it's worth it -- if you have the money for it, I mean, If you can spend that kind of money on a Car Computer screen, I'd recommend it. Check the Before/After Pics I made:
